Dr. Keshav Singhal was awarded MBE by the Queen of United Kingdom (which means " Member of the most excellent Order of the British Empire"). This is an award given by the Queen every year.
This is equivalent to the Padma awards in India. The award is announced on the Queen's birthday on 15th June every year. The award was given for
- Services to the Welsh community
- Services to the Indian community
- Charitable services.
There was an investiture ceremony at the Buckingham Palace when HRH Prince Charles awarded the medal in a formal ceremony.

Keshav Singhal is a senior orthopaedic surgeon in Cardiff, Bridgend and Neath-Port Talbot. He initially trained in india from G R Medical College, Gwaliorand has been in UK for the last 20 years. He did M.Ch(orth) from Liverpool University and is a Fellow of Royal College of Surgeons of England.
He holds patents on hip surgery instruments which are in worldwide use and his unit is internationally acclaimed for hip surgery and he has personally trained over 100 surgeons in the technique of Hip resurfacing, which he pioneered in South Wales in 1998. In addition he undertakes knee and shoulder surgery and is one of the most productive surgeons in the region.
He is actively involved in community work and is the Chair of India Centre Wales. His works tirelessly to improve the interface between various communities and to ensure that the expatriat Indian community gets it's fair share of community resources and have their voices heard in the corridors of power. He is a modernizer and has shaken many outdated community concepts to enable a more inclusive and tolerant society in South Wales. He is on the steering group of Spiritual Capital Cardiff and is also the secretary of Injas Trust which provides relief to poor in the third world. He is the Chair of Bone fund which promotes education and facilities for the patients. He has attracted over £100000/ of funding for research and Hip Walks organised by him raised over £20000 to improve patient education and facilities.
He sits on the Board of the following organisations

- Pratham Shiksha, Jaipur
- India Centre, Cardiff
In June 2013, he was awarded MBE ( member of the most excellent order of the British Empire) for services to the Welsh and Indian community and for Charitable work in Wales, by Her Majesty The Queen, an honour awarded for the first time to any graduate of GR Medical College and to any body from Gwalior.
He is superbly supported by his wife Dr. Poonam Singhal, who is a governor of the HCA(Wales) and his business partner.
